Competitive Analysis
Summer Miracles Campaign
The Summer Miracles Campaign revolves around Kidsave's Summer Miracles program. Considering this, the competition consists of other such organizations that deal specifically with international adoptions. The Summer Miracles program was designed to place Russian orphans with American families. Therefore, other organizations that work to place international children with American families are direct competitors to Kidsave.
These competitive organizations include, but are not limited to:
Adoption Center of Washington (ACW)
Provides families for children who are up for adoption in the U.S., China, Georgia, Latvia and Russia. Also provides support for children living in orphanages.
Angels Haven
Serves all 50 states through programs in China, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Russia and Bulgaria with new projects currently underway in Eastern Europe and South America.
Angels Haven Outreach
Places children from Moldova, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, China and Vietnam with American families.
Bridge of Hope
Bridge of Hope is a non-profit organization that brings Russian orphans to the Long Island and Westchester areas of New York, as well as northern New Jersey and Washington, D.C. for six weeks of summer camp and potential adoption. While in the U.S., the children stay with host families who may or may not be interested in adoption.
Children's House International
Places children from Russia, Romania, China, Bolivia and Guatemala.
Cradle of Hope
Places children from Russia, China, Romania and Ukraine in U.S. homes. Also targets humanitarian aid and kids with special needs.
Families Are Special International (FASI)
Specializes in placing children from Russia, Mexico, China, Ukraine and Georgia in U.S. homes.
Families for Russian and Ukranian Adoption
A national support network for families who have adopted or are in the process of adopting from the former Soviet Union.
Help the Children
Specializes in the preparation and support of families and single persons seeking to adopt from the U.S. and internationally from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Russia and other countries.
Awareness Campaign
Our competition would naturally be other organizations that deal with international adoption, as well as those that wish to convey the message that every child needs a warm home environment. However, such fellow organizations are not to be treated as traditional competition, but as allies, working toward a common good. In fact, it is not unusual for "competitive" adoption organizations to work together.
As Kidsave is an organization with a wide scope of marketing goals that includes promoting the message, "because every child needs a family," Kidsave wishes to end the harmful institutionalization of abandoned children by finding families for them. A goal of this magnitude is comparable to other organizations that deal with wide-scale social and health issues such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, animal mistreatment, poverty, etc.
A few examples of these competitive organizations are:
-
Amnesty International
-
American Cancer Society
-
American Diabetes Association
-
Children's Charities of America
-
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
-
Red Cross
-
Ronald McDonald House
-
United Way
-
UNICEF
